Why do some people have a tendency to argue frequently?

You could be talking to them and before you know it there is some kind of disagreement and it's heated. Or you say something that you would deam harmless and they're affended by it for some reason. Why are some people like this? Or is it simply that you two don't get along, or do they just have a tendency to argue?

they might have a different opinion and are not willing to compromise, some people just like to be confrontational, and some people just like to get an emotional response from you.

there are several reasons. As far as dealing with them I think Ignoramus has some good ideas. sometimes you just have to realize that neither party is willing to give in to the others opinion and agree to disagree

    Thank liberalism for that.

They are insecure, and feel that a different opinion is a form of assault upon them, and to maintain their own (feeble) self-confidence they have to react aggressively and persuade you that you are wrong. Best way to deal with them is to pretend to be persuaded (say "you might have a good point",or "I hadn't thought of it that way"), which should calm them down.

Its not you, its all them and their problem.
