is it weird to wear dog tags in public ?

I have my father s dog tag from when he was in the Air Force. He passed away a couple years ago and I kind of want something of his that I can carry around with me/wear on a. daily basis. Is it okay for me to wear his dog tag (as a necklace)?

Yes you can wear them but IMHO it is kind of tacky. Hang them from your rear view mirror in your car so you see them every day and think of him.

It is fine, and if any veteran ask you about them, they would be touched that you are honoring a fellow vet that way.

I thought it was fairly common.

I think it is a Beautiful Tribute.

No it is not weird. As a veteran, I would be honored if my son wore my dog tags. Wear them proudly and don’t worry about what anyone else thinks b

Not at all, but this is Real Dogs so you're in the wrong category. Sorry for the loss of your father.

I think that's an incredible way to honour him, I'm sure he will look down with pride when you wear it. My father is not deceased but I wear his Air force jacket sometimes.

    Wear it proudly.
