Is this guy correct that cap field lines near the edge of dielectric follow a curve and why?

"They take this longer way through the air because the distance through the dielectric is less costly."

    The field line is the path that would be followed by a massless positive charge.

    Like charges repel.

    So the path will be repelled from other paths nearby.

    Including the path through the dielectric.

    For energy reasons it must start from the positive plate and end at the negative plate.

    But in between it will be repelled giving the outward curve.
