My mom's artery in her neck keeps throbbing. it will last for only a minute or two at a time. she is in her 70's. what could be causing it.?

it is the corroded artery.

    If by throbbing, you mean pain, it might be some type of migraine, spasm, or situation caused by an enlarged lymph node near the carotid artery. ...

    If the artery is pulsating, that's a situation.that needs to be evaluated by a doc. It might be insignificant or risky. No way to tell without seeing a doc.

    There may be blockage, hopefully she is not a smoker.

    You mean the "carotid" artery, not the "corroded" artery.
