Is what I have $$ saved, good for my age??
I shouldn't compare myself to others I know, but does having $11,000 at age 25 good?

That's pretty good for a single childless person in their mid-twenties. Or even for a childless couple. At that age my husband and I aimed to have $10,000-15,000 in savings. If my husband were to suddenly lose his job (my income was much lower) our savings and unemployment benefits together would have been plenty to tide us over until he found another good job.
Now we are in our late thirties and have kids, we aim for $40,000 in savings. We have a bigger house and correspondingly higher mortgage these days, and with kids the stakes are rather higher.
