I need names that sound dark but mean love.?

I'm making a character who is dark and emo but is obsessed with love, and like names that are based off of a characters personalities.

Update:

I basically need a name that means love that sounds kind of dark or gives you the impression that the character is not super lovey dovey. Like when you hear the name Damion it makes you think that the character is more than likely not going to be happy go lucky.

Rakkaus means love in Finnish and it sounds pretty harsh

    Names don't matter.

What IS important is your story, your characters and your use of English.

Names aren't really based on anyone's personality. (And it's 'based ON - not 'off of')

No-one knows what a baby's personality is going to be when they name them.

When YOU hear the name 'Damien' it might make YOU think that the character is happy go lucky - but most people won't get that impression at all. It makes me think of an evil little kid (as in The Omen movie). Other people might have known someone called Damien who was a really nasty bully, so that's how they picture someone with that name.

Work on your English, work on your story and your characters. But names are the last thing you need to worry about.

What you need is to develop the ability to create strong, authentic, believable, fully-formed characters that aren't one-dimensional cardboard cut-out caricatures of human beings. You don't sum a character up or describe who a person really is with a name. You either bring a character to life on the page, or you don't. If you can't write well enough to engage and interest a reader and to carry a plot through, then what difference does it make what names you use? A good writer can call his characters John Smith and Mary Jones and write a phenomenal story. You could obsess over your characters' names until the cows come home. It won't make a difference if you don't write them well and flesh them out. And if you do wish to use names with specific meanings (none of which any of your readers will bother looking up anyway), then at least expend the effort to research names before asking others to do it for you. If you want to write, learn to be a self-sufficient writer.
