What are freewheels and freehubs and what is the difference between them? Which one is better?

    In short...the freewheel is just about a dinosaur in today's world. The "freehub" & cassette is thicker, strong and longer lasting. Just scroll down on the web page & see the differences.

    Freehub is an interchangeable word referring to either a freewheel or a cassette. The freewheel is an older technology the problem with it is its design especially if jumping was involved allowed the rear axle to bend and/or break. The cassette due to its design was able to prevent bent and/or broken axles.
