I heard that the court in Florida has not decided IF they will seek the death penalty for that crazed killer at the school?

Do you think he should get the death penalty?

How can anyone think twice about that?

Unfortunately (and I agree with you) there are a lot of factors when asking for the death penalty.

San Fransico, for example, used it as a dodge to allow and four-time deported illegal alien to walk after gunning down a US citizen.

In this case, going after the obvious, and I would no matter what, would then involve a change of venue, maybe to another state.

The DA hasn't decided. The COURT doesn't make that decision.

99.9% chance he takes plea deal for life without parole, since trial is a pointless waste of money.

Life without parole is the correct sentence for an obviously mentally ill young man.

The prosecutor says he wants to "save the tax payers the expense of a protracted trial" so will take the death penalty off the table if the perp pleads guilty. Great: we get to keep him in prison for 80 years - what will that cost (and he'll want mental health care....maybe gender reassignment ..... and who knows how many appeals to get out from the "no chance of parole" in an even more liberal society down the road).

I say make let his execution be a deterant to other nutjobs.....or how about finding room in Guantanimo for some of our "special" criminals?

added 2/19/18: news reports I heard yesterday credit the plea deal to the prosecutor . . . . today the reports say it's the defense counsel willing to consider life-without-possibility-of-parole in exchange for guilty plea.
