Do you need to give Venmo your real full name, or can you use an alias?

I am using Venmo. My friend is sending me quite a large amount of money. I have my real bank account added on there but am using a fake name.

I'm wondering, if he sends the money using my username, will I have any trouble transferring the money to my bank account because I'm not using my real name?

    Banks would not recognize your fake name.

    If the transfer information does not match your bank account information, then the bank will reject it.
