Question about bible and being gay?
I read in the Bible that if you practice homosexuality that you will not be entered into the kingdom of god. I am trying to lead a straight lifestyle now, but find myself still wanting to have sex and be with guys physically.God knows us and I become confused, because I feel he knows us and wants us to be happy. Am I wrong for thinking this way? What are your views?

It ois written in the old testament also that a father must be prepared to givel his own daughters to visitors as a token of hospitality.. And that women can be stoned , etc etc....Takind the Bible too litterary has no sense whatsoever.

The Bible is a "loose documentation" of the life of Jesus and a rather liberal interpretation of "the word of God." Bear in mind that the Bible was not written by God but by humans who have their own flaws, agendas, biases, and subjective viewpoints. It is my humble opinion that the Bible is somewhat vague in nature so that a broad range of interpretations may be derived from it (aside from the rather specific directives of "Don't Kill," "Don't Lie," "Don't Steal," etc.)
Being gay and having a meaningful relationship with God are not mutually exclusive states of existence. God will have less trouble with you being gay than He will with someone from the Westboro Baptist Church who sows the seeds of hatred. Yes, God wants you to be happy so you can live a productive and meaningful life. As long as you aren't hurting anyone else in the process, your life is yours to live as you see fit.

The Bible does not separate people into categories according to their sexual desires or activities.

Where did you read that in the bible? Paul, who was a self-appointed preacher who lived after the time of Jesus said negative things about homosexuals in the various letters or "books" attributed to him, but he was speaking from his own view point, he was not Jesus or God speaking. 1 Corinthians 6:9-11 is one of the very few verses that talk about homosexuality but was written by Paul- Jesus never said anything about homosexuality. Much of the New Testament was written by Paul. But other men who compiled the bible determined his letters and preaching were to be included, he never met Jesus or knew much about him so much of what he says is his own viewpoints.

The book of Leviticus gives instruction in being a good Levite priest. Since there hasn't been a Levite priest on the planet in at least 1800 years nobody has to worry about it. Oh and St. Paul was a total screwball; a homophobe with a Saint in front of his name is still a homophobe.

God gave us 10 Commandments he expects us to live by. Not one says you cannot be gay and have sex with a person of the same sex. There is one about adultery but the church does not seem to get as upset over that one, but gays who God and Jesus had never said anything about seemed to be hated by the Church. I have never read the Bible but from my understanding there are a couple people who had a personal belief that Homosexuality was a sin. One was Leviticus who though most things were a sin but the church never mentions these other things which most of the supposed good church people do, and just picks on the gay people. Apparently before Queen Victoria became queen of England during the 1800s the church didn't preach against or discriminate against gays. She had a personal hate of gays and pressured the British government to make gay sex illegal. She then being head of the church of England ordered the Church to preach against homosexuality. British Missionaries went all over the world pressuring societies into banning gay sex and virtually made all the world homophobic. Britain ruled a quarter of the world back then and made it law in all these countries to punish gays. The church people scoured the Bible looking for something they could use to claim god hates gays and found very little in the Bible except a couple personal opinions but as it was in the Bible claimed it was the word of God.
Stop punishing yourself for being born with a sexual disability. It is not your fault. God loves everyone, it is the church who hates gays. Jesus said love everyone and never said love everyone except the gays. Jesus preferred to spend his time with the outcasts of society and loved everyone.

I'll be upfront with this first. I'm not a Christian (atheist), but:
1. The Bible doesn't say that - that's an interpretation based on translational issues. The Old Testament (in the Hebrew) regards it as more an uncleanness. In the New Testament, the Greek word is "arsenokoitai" which actually refers to men who participate in pagan sex rituals (not necessarily homosexuality). If you want to interpret it to mean that, that's one thing. But the original languages don't say it literally.
2. The Bible does condemn sex outside of marriage. Not sure if this is what you mean or not, but doing that would be contrary to the Bible and not really an improvement.

Many gays give into the temptation, and in order to feel better about it, they rationalize that there is no God. Don’t be like them. And remember, we are all tempted by Sin our whole lives. Some give into it more than others.
Peter 4:12 Dear friends, do not be surprised at the fiery ordeal that has come on you to test you, as though something strange were happening to you.
Corinthians 7:2
13 No temptation has overtaken you except what is common to mankind. And God is faithful; he will not let you be tempted beyond what you can bear. But when you are tempted, he will also provide a way out so that you can endure it.
Corinthians 10:13
But since sexual immorality is occurring, each man should have sexual relations with his own wife, and each woman with her own husband.
