I have fainted while sick, especially when having had a fever. I also fainted once while in the lunch line at school when my blood sugar was low and I was hungry. I worked with a teacher who fainted after she had gone on a diet and lost a lot of weight. Did you have a fever when you fainted? Were you hungry? Have you lost weight recently?

As I understand it, fainting for children and young adults is the result of a drop in blood pressure. It happens usually while the person is standing. It can happen to healthy people.

It may be one episode, but if it continues I’d see a doctor.
