Let a friend borrow my ps4, now he refuses to give it back.?
I let a friend borrow my ps4 because i was often side tracked by the ps4, and decided letting an unfortunate friend borrow it while i get my life together, would be a nice and logical thing to do. Its been 6 months and i told said friend he can keep the ps4 if i had built a gaming pc by April 1st 2018. I let him use the ps4 for 6 months and i lost my job in the process, so i couldn t finish the ps4 by April. After i explained why i couldn t finish building the pc because of my now current financial status the kid insists not to give it back because someone told him I ve already finished building the pc. He also explained how he already spent $150 on my ps4 because he broke it and had to pay for repairs. I m still holding my side of "the deal" by waiting patiently for April 1st, hoping he will give it back by then. Should i take it back before April because he s clearly being an ******, or should i press charges after April 1st. (I m against pressing charges because court is long, annoying, and expensive.)

Press charges? You have no case, as you gave it to him to use, and likely have no written contract for that loan. Unlikely you will get it back since he is not a real friend and does not want to give it back. Not a good idea to loan stuff to others.

You really make it hard on yourself when you handle like that. He's not going to give it back that easily. You can't expect a guy like that to just drop it off. You show up at his house to play video games and then you just take it back. Stuff like this always needs to be done in person. Don't expect to get anywhere by calling, texting or e-mailing.

Read Godless answer.
You can sue in small claims court. The problem is that your used computer isn't worth a lot. Go on ebay and look up used systems. That's how much you would get in court.
I'd just let him keep it. A computer system isn't worth that much. Since your unemployed you've got time to finish building your gaming system. If you need money to finish it, maybe your friend could pay you for the ps4.

Advise your 'friend' by email that you want the device returned within 7 days or you will have to start an action in the small claims court.
