What are the steps to set up a vending machine with soda and snacks?

I have always been curious on having one as a small business but never found info on how and where to start? Do you have knowledge of this?

When I worked for the city clerk at Brookfield one of my duties was renewing the licensing for all vending machines, game machines and others. They all have numbers on them, and each has to be licensed yearly. Check with your city clerk.

You have to buy/lease the machine. Then you have to buy/lease a place to put it. Then you need to service it yourself or hire someone to service it. You'll need to incorporate and have proper business liability insurance. Death/injury by vending machine isn't unheard of. People try to rock them, tip them, stick their arms up them, etc. plus then there's claims of injury/illness from the items being sold.

It's really not complicated. But it's a difficult way to make money unless you have a fleet of many machines in prime locations and can pay someone minimum wage to service them.

you have to buy the machine first of all, and get your supplier for products lined up then you approach the owner of the place where you want to put the machine and negotiate with him the terms of your rental costs
