Screaming Eagles, the 101st, were the big boys then. The 82nd had one brigade there, but nothing like the 101st at Firebase Ripcord and Hamburger Hill.

The 82nd Airborne didn't fight as a division during Vietnam. They had The Tiger Brigade deployed to SE as part of a readiness exercise. The 101st Airborne actively fought in Vietnam as well the 173rd Airborne Brigade so the answer is yes.

They sent one brigade for 6 months in 1967 as a test to see how fast they could deploy a brigade and then start pulling combat operations
