Dining survey?

1. menu (i'm a picky eater, so i need to know that the menu has food i like before i go), price, location.

2. texas roadhouse, dairy queen, mcdonalds

1. TASTE, then price and service

2. Vietnamese pho noodle house, then authentic Cantonese food and then Italian restaurant.

Quality of food. And all of those places serve dog food so we wouldn't be caught dead there. Well, Subway is OK if you like sandwiches.

1. Cost is always a consideration, but second to that for me, is cleanliness. I take the grandkids to fast food places occasionally, and always request a small change to their food so it will have to be made fresh. But if the tables are filthy, that's a game changer. If they can't keep the place clean, I won't trust what comes out of the kitchen.

2. For myself, I choose from Chinese buffet restaurants. I like the atmosphere, they are usually clean, and the soup is good (the soup is the judge). Outside of that, I prefer burger king and taco bell, but I cannot attest to their cleanliness in most cases.

1. if they have vegetarian options, how good the food is, if i think they'll be able to seat me right away

2. they would all be local restaurants, not national chains. so i might as well just say by type of food: ethiopian, thai, sushi

Convenience, Cost, Atmosphere

2. What three companies (in order of preference) do you initially consider when dining out most often? ie In-N-Out, Chipotle, Subway

Chipotle, Subway, In-N-Out

I don't consider Chipotle, Subway or In-N-out as restaurants so my answer to 1 would be different if you had asked about a fast food joint - just saying a survey is only as good as the questions being asked.

1/ None of those would be my main consideration - that would be the quality of the food. Of the three choices I guess I'd say convenience, atmosphere and then cost (but I seldom dine anywhere that's really cheap or really expensive).

2/ I've never heard of the first two companies and I would never consider Subway as somewhere to "dine out".

ADDED AFTER READING YOUR UPDATE: i.e. does NOT mean "as an example" it means "that means". e.g. means "for example". Using i.e. meant that we could only choose from the options you gave 😳

1) I don't consider any of those, usually. I'm most interested in getting good food. Once that consideration is out of the way I'll think about one or more of the three you list. In what order I consider them varies. Am I eating lunch on a workday, or am I out on a big Saturday night date?

2) We don't have Chipotle or In-N-Out where I live, and I flat-out refuse to eat at Subway.
