    index of refraction, n = c/v = (3 x 10⁸)/(2.10 x 10⁸) = 1.43

    time = distance/speed = (0.1 m)/(2.10 x 10⁸ m/s) = 4.76 x 10⁻¹⁰ s = 476 pico seconds
