    When the resistors are in series, the equivalent resistance is the sum of the resistors.

    Req = 15 + 15 + 15 = 45 Ω

    When the resistors are in parallel, the invert of the equivalent resistance is equal to the sum of the inverts of the resistances.

    1/Req = 1/15 + 1/15 + 1/15 = 3/15

    Req = 5 Ω

    15+15+15 = 45 ohms
