Help me!’ I put live aquatic plants in my fish tank and they all died.?

So I got a couple live plants from petsmart and decided to put them in my fish tank. Three days later all my fish died!!!! What could be the problem...

I tested my water I have no ammonia, nitrates, or nitrites. My ph was a little off and my alkalinity so I did a water change going by the tetra app and took my plants out I think that’s the cause. One of my cichlids are fine seems perfect and the other two see okay just not swimming a lot. I have snails also. I have 4. 2 gold ivory mystery snails, 1 black mystery snail, and one nertite snail. Do I need to take all the good fish out and put them in just delcorinated water and recycle my tank? And fix it what do I do.. can I take them out and put them in plain declorinated water

No the plants didnt kill the fish.

NO DO NOT take the fish out of the tank!

Your tank is not cycled if you have zero nitrate, in their lies the problem. So leave the fish in and do a fish in cycle. Taking them out will stress and kill them, they need stable temperature and stable environment.

get seachums prime and seachums stress guard and use them both twice a week until the tank is cycled , and with all new water, then just with all new water.

    1. the plants did not kill your fish

    2. pH and alkalinity did not kill your fish

    3. Healthy aquariums rarely have no nitrate

...... "tested my water I have no .... nitrates"

    4. What you propose to do, is wrong.

,,,,,"take all the good fish out and put them in just delcorinated water

    and recycle my tank"

Don't do that. Just wait 6 weeks for the tank to finish the cycle process.

Don't do other stuff, don't buy more fish, don't overclean the tank, stop overfeeding.

    And wait.

Spend the time to find something other than the tetra site to get information from.
