Question about advance directives?

Alex Jones said on TV that if you have an advance directive, then that gives the doctor permission to end your life and they don't care if you live or not and they have a financial incentive to kill you because they get money for harvesting your body parts. Is there any truth to any of this or is this just a lie, how do I know if this is the truth or not.

An Advance Health Care Directive gives the power to make health care decisions to another person when you no longer can. In no circumstances that should be the doctor! You give that power to your spouse, your children, a trusted relative, or maybe even an attorney. That person makes the decision (such as "pull the plug") based on your wishes that were communicated prior to losing the ability to make your own decisions.

nonsense. physicians do not get paid to "harvest your body parts". Doing so is illegal -- except when the advance directive says so in writing. And even then i may well not be done as some require significant advance planning and organizing.

Source(s): grampa -- sadly, i've recent experience with advance directives

This is a lie, and anyone who listens to Jones or gives him any credibility is a moron, so do yourself a favor and turn him off permanently and get a better, more factual media source.

If Alex Jones said it you can be pretty certain it is a lie.

He has spent decades spreading lies and conspiracy theories. He is currently being sued by the parents of the children murdered at the Sandy Hook school massacre, for claiming that it never happened and that these children never died.

    He is a lying scumbag.

Alex Jones belongs in a psychiatric hospital. The man's a nutcase.

No, it's not true. For God's sake, are you really that gullible?

    Alex Jones is a nut.

Still, I refuse to be an organ donor because if I'm dying on a surgical table but there's still a small chance to save me, I don't want to be viewed as a sacrifice for the "greater good".

a written statement of a person's wishes regarding medical treatment, often including a living will, made to ensure those wishes are carried out should the person be unable to communicate them to a doctor.

In Alex Jones dumb audience terms it means a document you prepare and you name a person who can act on your behalf if you are incapable of, the doctor listens to you or if you cannot communicate the person you designated to communicate on your behalf.

stop listening to that whacko Jones and do yourself a favor
