iphone 5 works perfectly EXCEPT it wont send or receive SMSs?

    Check with your carrier about that.

    That is most likely due to a problem with your network provider.

    Contact them directly. They may need to send updated “service book” settings to your phone, or if it is on a GSM network you may even need a replacement SIM.
