hi, I'm fitting a ceramic hob once ive cut the hole what do i seal the bare worktop with before inserting the hob?

im a builder ..yes you do seal the edges ..if not water etc can get behind it ..i use clear varnish ..two coats ...you can never overdo it

As you didn't say WHAT the worktop is made of, every answer is based on ASSumptions about the worktop.
Some materials absolutely MUST be sealed. Others CAN'T be sealed.

No sealant is required. But you have to seal where the hob meets the worktop.
