What's wrong with my ear canal?

For the last two days the canal in my right ear has been in intense pain. I haven't done anything to it or put anything in it so this is a mystery to me. I can't even listen to music with earphones because it hurts so much. Another weird thing is that there's a LUMP at the back-right of the roof of my mouth! I discovered it last night when I was brushing my teeth and if my tongue touches it or I accidentally brush against it with the toothbrush, it sends a SEVERE shooting pain all the way through the canal. I'm really, really worried and don't know what to do. I just want the pain to stop.

My grandpa is a retired doctor and when I asked him about it even he didn't know but said it could possibly be an abscess. Can anyone help me please? I really need to know how to get this sorted out :(

Update:

I just yawned and it feels like I burst my eardrum. It's not bleeding though so I think I'm okay. Also I forgot to mention that I've had problems with my ears for as long as I can remember. They're so bad on planes that I scream and cry the whole flight. I've never had this problem before though.

It probably is some kind of infection.

See a doctor to have it checked.

A course of antibiotics may be all that you need.
