Long-term Birth Control to help Endometriosis?
To keep the story short, I will say that I have tried EVERYTHING out there. Pill, patch, ring, shot, and am currently trial running the Nexplanon sub-dermal arm implant. It isn’t helping. So I have decided to try Mirena IUD. If this doesn’t work, then I am having a total hysterectomy and oophorectomy(removal of uterus, ovaries, and fallopian tubes). I have been dealing with Endometriosis since I was 17. I am 32 now, and I am at my mental, physical and emotional end.
I gave my first and only child up for adoption, and I am more concerned about being able to lead a normal life than ruining my chances of having another kid. I have discussed this at length with my partner, and he agrees. Plus we can always adopt.
So, ladies, preferably with Mirena experience and/or endometriosis, tips, tricks, valid concerns?

Have you discussed this with your Dr? Because I find it hard to believe that he is going from birth control to a hysterectomy.... Seeing as that there are other treatments for endo.

Why on earth would you try such dangerous options instead of using condoms for birth control? They are cheaper, more reliable, less invasive, and you also get protection from STDs as well as pregnancy. If your partner refuses to take any responsibility for birth control, he doesn't look like a good candidate for a long-term partnership. You also need to consult another doctor and get a second opinion about treatment for endometriosis. There are new procedures that are very good and can help you get rid of that condition permanently.
