Why is my duck rowdy?
I've had a pet duck (Clancy) for about 7 years, we have been best friends. I got him when he hatched and he thinks of me as his mother. But lately, he has been rowdy, pecking at me whenever I go to pet him and squawking loudly all hours of the day. What has changed? Was this my fault or is he just getting old? Or is this behaviour because of how he lives in my house? If anyone could answer please do so as I am very worried. I do not want to lose a good friend.

He is old and perhaps that is his problem. Make certain he is getting all the nutrition he needs, warmth, drinking water & shelter.

I don't imagine it is your fault, if you have had him for 7 years and this just started recently.

To have only 1 duck in your home is to sentence your fabulous fowl to a life of loneliness. They are social types. Get him a girlfriend they have duckings and you can sell the ducklings once they reach the right age. Also start reading up on how to look after these pets because you did not know this means you just expected what your doing to be right. They have special food needs as well.
