With the exception of a free standing tub, I have never HEARD of a bath tub that doesn't REQUIRE being installed directly against the wall. If this is even a minor question in your mind, I submit YOU shouldn't be installing anything.

if you are installing it you shouldn't need to ask sorry for being so blunt you need some skill at least and you don't appear to have any 45 years in construction helps me to see that its for your own good

Check YouTube. Chances are, someone has done this before you. You may find some videos or tips to make this work. Perhaps build out a small ledge on the walls you are pushing up against. Kind of a shortened or faked side frame on the wall sides.

I think you should need to push it up against the wall but let me know that the edges that rolls down stick out? if yes then you can cut that off by using dremel rotarty tool and tile cutting bit. Also wear dust mask while doing this work. For your information, I will tell you about Royal bathrooms, that offer bathroom stuffs in low prices. Visit official site of the Royal Bathrooms and learn more about bath stuffs etc.
