In Microsoft Word, how do I keep from having space appear below my line of text when I hit the enter button?

Let's say that I want to create a few lines with my name, address, and telephone number. If I type my name and hit enter, there is a lot of space between the two lines. How do I have them treated as a paragraph? Should I just use the right indent, or is there an easier way?

Thank you.

The space is the space between paragraphs. If you only want a new line, use Shift+Enter.
