Impossible Burger?
Will you eat it even though it's Genetically Modified? With little or no testing on how it affects your health?

The fact is, MOST of the food we eat is genetically modified these days. We don't know because there's no law in the US (as there is in other parts of the world) that GMO must be labeled.
To be fair, GMO hasn't caused any really serious problems yet (though there have been many smaller problems). The thing is, it COULD cause some very serious problems. And since big agribusiness corps are big enough to bribe Congress, they're allowed to lie, just like oil companies, health insurance companies, tobacco companies . . . you name it.
The term GRAS (Generally Recognized As Safe) is a joke. It might really only mean that Congress has relieved manufacturers of testing requirements. If a problem does show up, the corporations will bribe the govt. to delay testing requirements as long as possible, while continually advertising that their product is GRAS.

You seem very obsessed with vegans. Are you insecure about your own diet or something?

I've already had two or three. Just curious about them. The first one was too salty and overcooked. So I wanted to give it another try just to make sure I just didn't have a poor cook.
Anyway, they were alright. but after being vegetarian for over 20 years I've pretty much lost any cravings for real hamburgers. The fact that it bleeds is not a plus in my book.
However, for transitioning vegetarians it might be a good crutch. And I understand it is most popular with non-vegetarians. People who just don't want all the adverse health risks associated with red meat.
But thanks for letting us know about that article. I think I've had my last Impossible burger now. Too bad cause I thought it was a step in the right direction.

Sure, I already do plenty things which are 100% known to affect health negatively, smoke, drink coke, eat donuts and eat regular burgers.
