Is Tourette's something a person can develop at any point in their life or is it something you're born with?

I googled it the other day and it said Tourette's syndrome is genetic. My brother has it and I was wondering if I might have it too because sometimes I tic. Not as much as him though.

Update:

Also, what are some signs to look out for in the body to recognize whether or not you have it? My legs rapidly bounce up and down when I'm sat in a chair. But my counsellor told me that that's linked to my anxiety. I also do this weird head-bob type of thing when I'm eating or sat still for long periods of time. I just want to know the common sort of tics in Tourette's.

My friends brother has it. She does not but her son does. It can skip people. Sounds like you are lucky.
