What do you think about people who stereotype/generalize everything?

I’m just asking because I’ve been feeling so misunderstood and depressed lately thanks to my family. I like marvel & HATE Facebook. That website is toxic for me thanks to them. at the same time, I am girlie. I love dressing up, but because I don’t care to have Facebook anymore and have no desire to document my life on there like they do and I happen to love marvel movies, according to them, I’m a nerd. Now my family is the type of family to think of big glasses and butt tooth teeth when they think of “nerd” and I already have self image issues as it is... im 2 years clean but I have cut in the past before over feeling so disgusted by my looks. To this day I get into crying spells and their stereotyping and generalizations about nerds do nothing to help that any. My parents get mad at me for not keeping them up to date on how my extended family is doing on Facebook. I don’t even log on Facebook much because it’s a toxic website to me that makes me depressed. Marvel is my escape from my problems and they are making me feel ugly for liking it... it’s weird :,(

Here’s pictures of me.... do I fit their stereotypes? Am I prettier than what I think I am? I just want to be seen as a classy, sweet girly girl who loves marvel and just doesn’t care for gossiping about others on Facebook because that’s exactly what I am I’m tired of them labeling me as otherwise it hurts :,(
