Ford Focus ST Hatchback seats?

I've been looking into the used market for the Focus ST (2013-2014) and from what I can tell most of them have the Recaro front seats which are notorious for not being friendly to taller and bigger guys. A two categories I fit into. I was wondering what were my options for replacing them just in case I can't find a used model with out the Recaro's in them. Could I take it to a Ford dealership and trade the seats in for the standard one? Or just pay for he standard ones and have either a dealership or autoshop install them for me? Or are there other options I'm not thinking of? Thanks for any help.

    1. Try out the Recaros. It could be you fit them

    2. Find aftermarket seats that fit you. Awkward because you'd want to try them out before you put them in your car

    3. Avoid Ford main dealers. Go to accessories suppliers specialising in seats

    4. Sell the Recaros privately especially if they are in good order

    5. Accept you need a bigger car than a Focus

Seats are mounted in vehicles by only a few bolts. They're fairly easy to uninstall and re-install and ANY seat can be put back in because a lot of seat designs mount in a similar enough way that modifying the mounts, if modifying them is even needed, is fairly easy to do. What matters is the width has to fit inside the vehicle as well as the height can't be too high that it illegally obstructs your view and they have to fit around any floor obstacles like center consoles and the "bump" in the middle of some cars (which is actually there because the drive line and other mechanical parts are under it so the floor pan was designed and bent to fit around them).

You can put any seat you want in it as long as it fits. It doesn't have to be an F word seat it can be an aftermarket seat you find that you really like...it just has to fit inside the car and have a design that will work with those kinds of obstacles. Auto upholstry shops exist almost everywhere and a shop like that can even design a custom seat that fits perfectly and suits your liking or need(s).

Just seat on them first. They are racing seats and they are fine for short trips. You can check out other seats from Bride, Sparco or Cobra. They have "beginner" seats that will not break the bank. A Focus ST with regular Focus seats looks wimpy. And AVOID the ST with the dual clutch.
