Training/correction of the family dog is everyones responsibility. There is no shame in seeking professional help for the entire family, on how to train a dog properly. Preferably before the dog injures someone/something, is removed at the families expense, family is sued and the dog is euthanized.

Talk to your MOTHER about the problem. Tell her the dog IS biting you, any time you TRY to play with her. (Perhaps - you are not playing correctly with the dog). But also INDICATE, this is WHY you do not want to take the dog for a walk, any more. See if she "thinks" it is something just YOU do incorrectly, in approaching or handling the dog, or if she admits the dog bites everybody - or a lot of people.

I FEEL the dog ought NOT to be biting (AT ALL) unless it is being hurt or unless it feels TRULY threatened (which I doubt is occurring). The biting may indicate the dog lacks bite inhibition or have NEVER PROPERLY BEEN TAUGHT.... NOT TO BITE PEOPLE. This tends to be MORE of a problem in Chihuahua, than other breeds. They are a nippy breed (by nature) and as a smaller breed are often NOT corrected, for BAD BEHAVIOR, that would be corrected in a larger breed.

IMO, your mother needs to hire a dog trainer to come to the home, to HELP with this problem. If your dog bites a guest or a delivery person, YOUR mother can be SUED and the dog can be removed from the home & held at Animal Control.
