I find Socrates to be pretty low on my list. Although I think he was a genius and don't find much problem with his ideals especially given the time period he lived through, I find his disinterest in writing and documenting his work to be very disappointing. He failed to realise the importance of documentation and preservation of his work to share it with the world and allow it to live beyond him and I think that demonstrates a sort of closed-mindedness that I thought philosophy was intended to discourage. Again, not trying to discredit him, it's just an issue I find with his character.

The most disinteresting philosopher for me is Berkeley. His idea that there are only ideas is a malodorous solipsism. Close to him is Leibniz, who granted came up with Calculus, but whose theory of Monads is off the wall. I haven't read either one of their works, nor do I intend to.
