By itself, CA is the FIFTH largest economy in the world and critical to US food production. They also have a state budget surplus and contribute more to the federal government than they receive. Joke all you want, but w/o CA the rest of the U.S. would basically have the economy of Italy.

Because the four legged animals don't deserve that. There are some people - two legged ones who don't deserve it either. Besides, if they let it burn, that much of an uncontrolled fire would quickly spread East. Half the country might go up in flames, perhaps, all of it. Have you got an arc handy?

Just the metropolitan area of San Francisco Bay has more GDP than the poorest 6 red entire states, combined. You want to burn the goose that is laying the golden eggs? Not smart.
Thats just why it would be impractical. it would also be just plain wrong because it is a beautiful state and tends to be the national leader in almost everything, and we would all miss having computers and movies and information technology, and food. Thats right, CA is the leading producer of food in the nation, as well as technology.

To some extent, we do. Wildfires are part of the natural cycle for the forests. The fires clear out older trees and undergrowth, making space for new trees to take their place. In addition, the charred plants and whatnot make a good fertilizer.
So the firefighters are only concerned with keeping the fires away from towns and peoples' homes.
