Why do some muslim girls wear the hijab and makeup?
I don't mean to offend anyone, but i've wondered about this after seeing some muslim girls on youtube and tumblr. from what i understand, the hijab is to protect a girl's modesty and to stop men from looking at her with lust. so why do some girls wear makeup along with their hijab?
the point of makeup is to make yourself look better and to attract more attention, so i feel like it's at odds with the point of the hijab. i know kohl is permitted around the eyes as well as henna, but i mean more like thicker eyeliner and mascara that draws a lot of attention as well as things like bright lipstick. at that point, why even wear a hijab at all? i feel like makeup makes you look more sexual than just having your hair showing.
i'm totally fine with muslim girls dressing how they like, i just don't understand the sort of hypocrisy of following some of islam's modesty rules/guideline, but not all of them.

They're still slightly covered from outside males but makeup creates an extension of their already vibrant and existing personality.

it actually ridicules Muslims since the whole reason for hiding women is the Qur'an calls women to hide their beauty!

All are not 100% brainwashed. It's the same for the christians believers, all don't wear a cross ( for example).

A person can know with certainty Catholicism is the One True Faith by reciting daily and with care the angelic psalter of the Virgin Mary.

There are no rules about makeup. Nothing in Islam says you can't look pretty. The hijab is about HAIR. They don't think it's hypocrisy, in fact the heavy eye make up is ancient tradition. They used to believe it gave them powers or had medical benefits.

They are hypocrites like the vast majority of religious people. They wear Hijab because supposedly God wants them to do it but they refuse to forsake make up even though they believe God doesn't want them to do it.

Hijab has nothing to do with religion. They're fashion and cultural statements. There were 7,000,000 people at Nasser's funeral, men and women. Not one woman was wearing a hijab.
Good to see that you're getting your information from a good source like YouTube, though.

In the West religion becomes watered down and more secular, the vast majority of people just want to be part of the society they live in. Nothing wrong with that.
