gm TRAVERSE, shuts off at red lights(stopped). How to disable this feature.??

Hi you don't only a dealer has the power to do that.

Dealer gave me a 2018 Equinox 2.0T. I drove it for a day before I realized the darn thing had the STOP feature on it.

To disable the feature switch to manual shift and select the highest gear. That puts and end to AUTO-STOP.

Is it a Hybrid?

You can't shut it off if it's a Hybrid.

If it's not a Hybrid go to the dealer and have it repaired. The idle air control system may not be working.

The video has some good ideas in it. Haven't got it in either of my vehicles, have driven son's CX7 with it & hated it, made for delay on takeoff from lights, extras noise,harshness too. Yes the starter system can be engineered to handle 300,000 starts during car's life but is it or well enough engineered t oget well out of warrantee period.

A number of comments from people with hybrids dont count - they use the electric drive motor t ostart the engine as the car moves off - very nice - IC engines dont have this.

The start-stop feature is a pain.
