What was the specific reason for why Kroger closed all off their Raleigh locations?

Recently, Kroger, an American grocery store chain, closed all of its Raleigh-Durham locations in North Carolina. Eight of them are being converted to Harris Teeter's (which is owned by the retailer). Was it to help increase marginal profit or was it done to help them make money?

Making more money means more stores, not less. You need more sales to make more!

So they probably did this to keep from going bankrupt, closing non-profit stores.

If it were your store chain, you'd do te same thing

    Those are THE SAME THING.

Yes, that was most likely a MAJOR consideration in the decision.

Uh, making more marginal profit IS making more money.
