Does the Earth and the planets have any effect on the sun?

If the Earth and planets were not there and the sun were surrounded by only empty space would there be any feedback at all on the sun, or would it just keep on going just the same?

As it stands right now, someone observing outside the solar system would see (well, detect) the Sun wobble a bit as the planets' gravity pulled in different directions at various points along their orbits. (This technique has been used to find some extrasolar planets.) That wobble would go away if there were no planets.

Earth, and the other planets do tug on it a little. If the planets weren't here, the sun would be still be doing its thing. Orbiting around the giant black hole in the middle of the galaxy. That will hopefully not eat our solar system one day....God, I hope not. Earth, and every one on it, ripped to shreds, atom by atom, like the Godless monster that it is.

    Sweet dreams.
