Does the catholic church hire pedophiles or create them?

Both, but not intentionally. It all began with Vatican II. The church, in a desperate attempt to seem relevant, began recruiting younger men into seminary school. They felt, probably correctly, that if the priests were younger, it might attract younger churchgoers. An unfortunate side effect of this was that the priests they recruited didn't fully think their vows through. They were not truly ready to be chaste, and it became a nightmare for them. But of course, as they were living with other men who had taken the same vow and meant it, they got no sympathy.

Eventually, those sexual urges they tried so hard to repress came out in newer, perverted ways. Altar boys, after all, were expected to do whatever the priest told them to without question.

The bible doesn't say anything against pedophilia so how would priests know?

There has been a long-running cynical ploy by nonChristians -- specifically socialists -- to infiltrate and then neutralize the moral authority of the Catholic Church. It began in the 1920's and 30's under the orders of Joseph Stalin. Men with "neither faith nor morals" -- Stalin's words -- were recruited to present themselves as faithful Catholics willing to become priests. The whole celibacy requirement made no difference to them, as they did not intend to be celibate from the beginning; many were homosexual. As these men rose in rank and began to have influence in the seminaries as bishops and even cardinals, they subverted the ancient teachings of the Church, resulting in the mess that was Vatican II and the rampant deviation from the faith that followed.

People who grew up in the pre-Vatican II Church had little idea that their own children we being taught socialist drivel, not Chistianity.

The Church did catch on in the 1980's, and began to disallow homosexual men from entering the seminaries, but much of the damage -- including the molestations -- had already occurred. The Church unfortunately did not have the strength or depth of insight to eliminate the compromised men from the clerical ranks, and the problems have continued; not so much with the molestations (which were generally of teens or even seminarians -- this is "pederasty", taking advantage of sexually mature nonadults, not "pedophelia", which involves prepubescent children), but the denigration and destruction of true Christian teaching.

The Catholic laity have now begun to rise up and demand the situation be reversed, the offenders ejected from the Church, and the ancient faith restored.

The whole thing is sickening to Catholics that are not Roman Catholic, too, such as Eastern Orthodox -- which was not similarly invaded by faithless, immoral men.

    Forgive me.

Clergy is an occupation for some, who are unable to be in normal sexual relationships and seek an acceptable 'reason' or 'cover' for their bachelorhood. These individuals, if they did not become members of the clergy, would not marry or be in normal relationships anyway. This is why I disagree with the idea that letting priests marry would prevent pedophilia and sexual abuse of children. Heterosexual priests who break their vows of celibacy will have sexual relationships with women, not underage boys or prepubescent girls.

  • No. They are more interested in acquiring real estate than in creating pedophiles.

Pedophiles exist. They will usually be found around children because of the nature of their disease. Because there are two kingdoms locked in battle with each other, it gives the opportunity to perverts to masquerade as righteous.

Righteousness and perversion are in total contradiction with each other and never the twain shall meet.

However, even this doesn't begin to describe how far apart these things are.

Those who are guilty of this will only have themselves to blame for the appalling fate they will suffer.

Most religions create such. Religion poisons everything.

I think a bit of both. Probably pedophiles are going to be inherently attracted to it, like another user rightfully pointed out yesterday.. Because it's easy for them to hide within the church, while abusing kids on the sly!

But: I also think many of the priests who abuse those kids would not have been pedophiles, under normal circumstances! It's just, they get SO wicked desperate from the enforced celibacy, they would f*ck almost anything that moves.. And children, unfortunately, are easy prey! While in normal life..? They probably would have preferred adult women. Or in some cases, adult men. So I'd say..? Just let them have that! I think it could positively change a LOT of things.
