    You can usually get a list from the local housing authority.

    Check local apartment listings. They will often state "No Section 8" or "Section 8 welcome." Some landlords don't accept Section 8, some do.

    Listings offered through local housing agencies are commonly out of date. (One listing issued by HUD was so out of date that upon inquiring on behalf of a friend I found out the building had been demolished!) Paid services are a ripoff, they just glean listings from publicly available sources.

    Very few landlords will advertise that they accept Section 8 vouchers.

    Contacting your case worker is a good start, but you can look in the "not so nice" areas of town and you will see a higher probability that the landlord will accept Section 8.

    Let me be clear, one cannot simply refuse a section 8 voucher, but there are ways to fail the inspection if they really want...
