What outfit would you suggest for my character?

My fictional character is an Asian woman who goes to Columbia University in New York and she always wears tucked in shirts to look neat and tidy. She meets a man at a cafe and wants to be seen holding his hand so she doesn't look like she is alone. What type of outfit could you imagine on her?

    Not long flowing sleeves, it would hide the holding hands.

    Thigh-high leather hooker boots in a neon orange, which strive to cover torn, black fishnets before they reach a soiled, hunter-green cardigan, worn as a minidress.

    Her street clothes. The same clothing she wore to her classes. She went to a cafe, not a lounge, so she would not be wearing evening clothes.

    I'd like to know the man's reaction. I'd also like to know how the man was dressed and how he acted that made your character trust him.
