Question about planning out writing a novel/novella..?
Hey guys, I was wondering if anybody could give me any suggestions as to how to plan out writing a novella/novel. I think I have a jump on it already by coming up with planning out each chapter with an outline cause that's what worked on my last novella that I wrote 7 years ago but I need help with the rest of it lol. If anybody has any suggestions id greatly appreciate it! thanks and have a great day!

Planning out a novel can be a easy or as complex as you want it too be. And it's really trial and error. I've found a fairly detailed plan works best for me, but others not so much.
So as an obvious beginner you'll have to do what I did. Use Google and start reading articles on plotting out a story and you'll soon get a jist of how complex it can be. There are lots of articles and also some step-by-step ones who talk you through each element of the story (character, plot and setting).
Brandson Sanderson does lectures on youtube and even if you don't write fantasy it's still worth listening. To be a writer you can't be lazy, you have to do some leg work and actually find answers yourself instead of expecting others to give them too you.
Anyway I wish you all the luck in the world.

You want a two or three sentience advice on how to plan, scope out, outline, research, and create a novel ???
Buzz over to the Writer's Digest site. They have a number of articles that will help you realize how much work you need to do BEFORE you start to write.

Just get what you already have out on sticky notes or note cards and rearrange them to see where there are plot holes and places that need fixing. From there just start adding and taking away until you are happy and type it into something concrete. With that result you can either add even more or just start writing. :)
