Halloween dilemma: cheap treats with HFCS, or expensive treats without?

I'm thinking of giving out animal crackers with my Halloween goodie bags this year because the crackers match my costume theme. Right now, a pharmacy chain is selling individually-wrapped treats, including animal crackers, very cheaply. However, these crackers contain high fructose corn syrup (HFCS), a chemically-treated sweet that can wreck your body. I know where to find individually-wrapped organic animal crackers (without HFCS), but they cost three or four times as much. What do I do?

Update:

Thanks to those of you who provided helpful answers. I bought the pharmacy's animal crackers in spite of the HFCS. I may also buy some packets of organic animal crackers as well, which some trick-or-treaters will receive. Happy Halloween!

2 or 3 crackers is not going to send anyone into a coma. If you pour a quart of HFCS down your throat, you may have an issue.

The crackers will be less harmful than just about anything else kids will receive that night.

There is nothing any worse about HFCS than other forms of sugar. Most of us eat too much sugar, and would be well-advised to cut back on it. But switching HFCS for say, cane or beet sugar does nothing.

Get the cheap ones because most of the other junk they're going to eat that night will have HFCS, so a little less or more will not make a difference. It's up to the individual to look after their body and choose what to eat.

If you are going to give something other than candy, why not pencils or other cute things instead of crap food. Organic individually wrapped is a waste of money.

You can go to Oriental Trading company and find all sorts of cool little things to give out.

    Check it out.

Just go with the regular ones. NO ONE will appreciate your spending all that extra money.

It depends. A few animal crackers don't have enough HFCS to wreck you. There will really be no effect on the kids. If, however, you've got the money to go organic, that won't hurt anyone either.
