I mean not driving at the same time as putting my reverse mode on. The way I typed it? May seem confusing! I mean putting reverse mode on before going into drive mode.

Those things are good to have. However, everyone should know you have no right of way coming out of a parking place. You may need to learn to wait until no traffic is approaching. When I can, I back into a parking space, so I have a better view of opposing traffic as I need to exit. It is always easier to see forward than backward. Your backup cam and lights will help you back in. Practice using your mirrors and you back in, but also turn your head to look around blind spots.
