So if anyone disagrees with you, you should not be civil to them? On the other hand everyone who disagrees with the things that you hold dear should be uncivil to you if they feel threatened? I just need to know so I know how to act toward you.

You should look up Daryl Davis. He is an African American who, for the past 30 years, has attended KKK meetings. His intention is to understand where racial hatred originates. Through civil dialogue, he has convinced over 200 Klansmen to quit the KKK, including the grand master of the Maryland chapter of the KKK.

I know the KKK, nor African American are political parties, but I think it is still an excellent example of civility succeeding over violence.

You can but you don't have to. Do as you're done by.

Trump is insulting and mocking decent people on a daily basis. Is that an example of the civil discourse you seem to support?
