Will a sunscreen stick cause wrinkles?

I just recently bought the new neutrogena face and body SPF 70 sunscreen stick, it claims to glide on smoothly, however when I was applying it to my face it didn’t glide on as smoothly as I expected, instead it tugs on my face skin as I apply it. Will this cause wrinkles in the future? Especially if I’m applying this twice a day

No. Wrinkles are caused by the breakdown of collagen and elastin. Collagen gives your skin strength and elastin gives it elasticity, literally enabling it to stretch and bounce back. As we age collagen and elastin production slows down so we naturally develop wrinkles.

Certain things will speed up the breakdown of collagen & elastin. Exposure to the sun being top of the list, along with smoking and alcohol intake. Therefore, a sunscreen will help prevent wrinkles, as will quitting smoking and moderating alcohol consumption.

    Hope that helps. Louise

    Yes.

Have you seen the wrinkles on your eyelids? That's also from stretching the skin, applying & removing makeup.

But don't worry about that, too much, but the sun and too much soaking in the tub or pool does.

There are OTHER WAYS to get wrinkles, too, and you can always try to prevent getting new ones, example the sunscreen you're using:

    Beauty Enemy #2: Nanos

Nanos may sounds like something out of a science fiction movie, but for your skin, they are scarier than a horror movie. Nanos cause a normal skin cell growth to break down, which results in early wrinkling, and DEEPENING THE WRINKLES you already have.

Here’s the shocking part: nanos are usually found in anti-aging skin lotions. It’s scary that the creams we ladies are using to look younger can actually make us look older! Nanos are also found in the majority of sunscreen lotions, so beware.

If you're applying man-made products to your skin, you're APPLYING CHEMICALS TO YOUR SKIN, you still get MELANOMA.

Eating too much sugar, Fruits & vegetables can turn into sugar, not just from pop, candies, etc. causes wrinkles, too!

How you rest your chin, see photo. Same with squinting & worrying.

Victoria Beckham doesn't like to smile, she said it promotes wrinkles around her mouth.

    ALSO:

Dermatologists and plastic surgeons believe that high impact cardiovascular exercise such as running, jogging and jumping can lead to premature wrinkles. Many die-hard runners, although slim, have premature wrinkles and sagging.

BEST SUNSCREEN: wear dark, thicker clothing, floppy hat,, or sun clothing embedded with UPF 50, or umbrella (which protects you up to 80% of the UV rays that cause sun damage penetrate clouds, according to the EPA).. They were invented to protect us from the elements. Your hair suffers also, so cover your hair before leaving the house. Use hats, scarves, bandanas or umbrella to protect your hair from harmful rays. Go out on Umbrella Day and find yourself an umbrella or three that suites your tastes and styles, and make sure one of them is strictly for use in the sun! Think 1930’s fashion. We put a lot of effort into raising awareness of putting sunscreen on the face, but we don't think about the head a lot.

No, but cannot fathom why you did not buy a gel or liquid formula, instead.
