Why won't my non-rooted android get software updates?

I have a LGL61AL running lollipop it has never had a software update in two years or so. For some reason the software update won't show up after i go through the process in settings.

    Most phone makers that use Android don't issue software updates for more than six months to a year after any particular phone is released, if they even bother to do any updates at all..

    Although Google regularly issue updates, all the phone makers add their customisation and branding to their version they put on their phones, which takes a lot of time and effort; they only bother for the newest phones in their range.

    That is my really big gripe with Android devices, compared to iOS (Apple) - they provide updates for several years; my current phone is four years old and still being regularly updated to the latest stuff.

    My (very expensive) Sony android tablet had one update, ever...

    Some time the phone your are using is not compatible for software upgrade due its hardware configuration, I am also using lenovo k3 note for last 3 years and i have also not get any update for this mobile.
