    These days, many torrent clients themselves use the various IP hiding networks.

    Depends on WHAT you're grabbing through a Bit Torrent connection...

    * If everything is legitimate (legal downloads)... you should have nothing to hide in a legal sense. Masking your IP address via a VPN would only serve as a privacy buffer OR if your ISP actively throttles Bit Torrent connections.

    * If the download is legally questionable... you probably SHOULD mask your IP address to avoid the copyright holders attempting to prosecute you (as they could use it with your ISP to get your physical address).

    I don't know the exact laws in India, but this is probably a good rule of thumb worldwide.
