Brought cheese spread, has liquid on top?

What is the liquid likely to be? What should I do?

Pour it off or mix it back in. Here it is caused by heat in trailers in shipping & our better roads. Bouncing all around. Or both. Tropics here. Or it can be oil separation in heat. mix that back in.

stir the spread to mix the ingredients-things settle over time.

Depending on the type of cheese spread and what the other ingredients are it could be Whey or it could be some water that was used in processing. You could either pour it off or stir it back in depending on how thick the spread is.

Moisture could also come from other ingredients in the spread.

Onions, peppers, celery all have a lot of moisture that can begin to exude from the veggie.

I don't know the actual name of ot but it will be the watery, liquid part of the cheese spread that has risen to the top (or the thicker, heavier, more solid part has sunk to the bottom).

What should you do? Well, what would you like to do? I doubt I would even have noticed the liquid but if I had I'd have ignored it. You could do the same. You could stir the spread and re-incorporate the liquid. You could pour he the liquid off. You could throw it out. You could take it back to the shop and complain. You could complain to the manufacturer.

    What ever you want.
