Can a positive HLA-B27 ever change to negative and vice versa over time?
In 2012, I was positive for HLA-B27. I went to the rheumatologist just a few days ago and she said she didn't need to recheck it because I was positive in 2012 and it never changes. Is that true that it never changes years later from positive to negative and vice versa?
The only reason I question it is because I saw someone post something online mentioning their rheumatologist said it could change.
Would it be a good idea just to press my rheumatologist to take another HLA-B27 test in case since it's been 6 years or not?

HLA (Human Leukocyte Antigen) is a protein on white blood cells that "usually" help the cells tell the difference between harmful attacking bacteria and normal healthy cells of the body. B27 is a harmful HLA that causes white blood cells to attack healthy cells (this is known as an autoimmune disease or an immune-mediated disease. HLA-B27 often is associated with joint pain and eye inflammation, but not all HLA-B27 positive people will show symptoms. Apparently, once HLA-B27 bonds with your antibodies (white blood cells), they stay in the system and never go away. Perhaps, some day, there will be a cure.
