All "normal" motor vehicles rely on fossil fuels. Most cars have internal combustion engines that burn gasoline, diesel fuel or various liquefied gases. These fuels are all distillates of crude oil. Crude oil is created when the bodies of dead critters sink to the bottom of the primeval soup, where they rot over millions of years under the immense pressure/weight of a sh!t tonne of sand that later deposited on top of them. Electric vehicles may be clean depending how the power station they are getting juiced from generates electricity. Many still burn gas/coal (also fossil fuels) while only those using nuclear/wind/wave/solar power do not burn fossil fuels
